Modular Catamaran Houseboat.
UPDATE May 2013: Ever since the 1993 movie Sleepless in Seattle, people have wanted houseboats like Tom Hanks' character Sam in the movie. But houseboat builders don't build houseboats like that. Globetrotter 66 is new aluminum cat schooner.
May 2013: The largest cruising yacht in the Globetrotter stable is complete. This new voyager is going to take her owners around the world. More than one may be possible if other owners are interested.

The largest wingmast yet from SYDI for an 80' sloop.
Aug. 2010: A&B Yachts in Belgium came to SYDI for an ambitious wingmast design--29.5 meters tall (96.8') and all carbon fiber, for an Arthur Peltzer 80' sloop being built in the Netherlands. Just about everything in this wingmast is unique, particularly its size. The story here tells how we did it. The boat is already being built, and the mast will begin within about a year.

Saetta kit speedboat gets a little bottom help from SYDI.
Aug. 2010: Saetta boats comes from two kit airplane builders, but they wanted to graduate to a bigger market--kit boats. They had the topside design, but needed to be sure they had the bottom, and therefore the performance, just right. They knew where to come--SYDI of course. This project is a complete success, and you can build it yourself in your own garage.

Scandinavian Cruisers begins production of the new SC 20 and SD 18.
Aug. 2010: That's Scandinavian Cruiser 20, a day boat, and the Scandinavian Dory 18, another day boat, in boat-speak. The SC 20 is an in-house shrunk-down version of the SYDI-designed SC 40. The SD 18 is a production version of a do-it-yourself dory from Downeast Maine. SYDI handled the design of the appendages and rig on the SD 18. designs new rigs for the Prema Dinghies

2010: When Wooden Boathouse set up shop in De Leon Springs, FL, they needed a naval architect to design the rigs for their 12', 14', and 16' Prema dinghies. They had only to come up the road to St. Augustine to get all the design work they needed. See how we designed the free-standing rigs and the appendages, and carried out the test sailing trials.

Copernicus gets a new SYDI-designed carbon fiber rudder.

2010: Copernicus in known on these pages as the only sailing yacht which has ever been retro-fitted with an SYDI-designed free-standing mast. Next, the owners wanted a new carbon fiber spade rudder to replace their old-style keel-hung rudder. Here is how it was designed, built, and installed.
